The primary medical application temperature sensor mainly uses NTC thermistors

NTC thermistor is a kind of heat-sensitive semiconductor resistor, whose resistance value decreases with the increase of temperature, and the TCR is about 10 times of the metal TCR, the change of resistance value of NTC thermistor can be caused by the change of external environment temperature, and also can be caused by the current flow and its own heat.


Temperature sensors for ablation applications mainly use thermocouple resistance

Thermocouples work by joining two different metals to form a sensing junction. When the temperature of the sensing junction differs from that of the free end, the thermocouple will generate a voltage between the two wires. The voltage signal can be converted to a temperature reading.
